It’s important for me to begin every day with a smile – it sets the tone – although I never expected my socks to be able to do that for me. I ordered some “smile” socks a month ago, just as things were getting wacky.
To my surprise, they work. The new sock initiative is more interesting and effective than I thought. Not only is there great interest in my socks, but I find they can brighten days and make people smile, which is no small thing in America in May of 2020. Go socks. Fashion icons can also contribute to society.
sure would like to know where you buy the socks..I want to share some smiles
Sorry, dawnmarie, but I don’t like to reveal personal details like that, unfortunately, it attracts people who are not healthy. When I wrote the name of my breeder, people started emailing her and telling her I murder puppies. I believe in an open life, but I don’t need to say where I buy everything I buy. I’m glad you love my socks, colorful socks are very easy to find. Just Google “colorful socks” which is what I did, and good luck.
Ha Ha HA thanks for the laugh!!!
BEST.SOCKS.EVER! I LAUGHED OUT LOUD BY MYSELF WHEN I SAW THE PICTURE! THANK YOU JON!
Love your socks, Jon! I have a bit of a “sock fetish,” myself. As an amputee, I like to use my one-and-only leg as a “fashion statement.” So a few years ago, when these colourful socks started appearing on store shelves, I began to buy them instead of the duller ones. Now, I have all sorts of cheery socks that reflect my interests — socks with rainbow colours, dogs, horses, pink ribbons, flowers, you name it. I’ve gotten them in all sorts of places — the National Gallery of Canada gift shop, Vermont Country Store (they have a great selection), LL Bean, to name just a few.
During this stay-at-home period, I organized my sock drawer and realized I have quite a “collection.” And since I have one leg, the socks last twice as long! (It’s one of the perks!) So, enjoy your socks and folks’ reactions to them. Just a little bit of joy to help brighten the days! And as an aside, our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau often wears colourful socks. You and I, we’re in good company!
This brings back a fond memory. I was working full time and attending law school at night. I saw a pair of red, hightop sneakers that I just had to have. I wore them everyday in law school, just as a reminder not to take myself too seriously. Every time I looked at my feet, I could remember who I really was and be happy.
Great message, thanks Susan..
