The farmers call them Goosepen holes because animals nest in them and often lay their eggs inside. This new name has sparked me into finally posting some of the scores of Goosepen photos I’ve always taken but rarely posted.
I don’t know why, but that is changing. They are beautiful and enchanting and mysterious. If you like trees, you’ll be seeing more Goospen art here. Some people will get annoyed and complain they just want cute animal photos.
Sorry.
Why sorry? It’s a cool picture and your blog. Go for it. I read yesterday about the book about happiness that you’re reading. There’s a free online “course” (Coursera and Yale) on the science of well-being. It is super interesting and they reference that book. You might find it interesting.
Btw I enjoy the mix of current events and pastoral/artistic writing.
