The most common term for the holes in trees is “Tree Hollow,” which works fine, but I think I have a better name. Farmers call those holes “Goosepen,” which is a lot neater name-wise.
It comes from farmers using tree hollows as animal enclosures, or places for some creatures to lay eggs. I’ve been taking photos of these Goosepen for years, but rarely put them up on the blog.
Today, I came across this Goosepen, and it had so much character I wanted to put it up on the blog. Here comes Goosepen Art from Bedlam Farm.
Nice photo and new definition for me. I shall tell people about Goosepen.
