Maria and I went over to the Mansion this afternoon to hang up the new banner we made this morning – “You Are Not Alone,” I also sent one to the mobile classroom at Bishop Maginn.
Claudia, a resident, and Alex, an aide, came out to watch us hang the banner and a bunch of residents watched from the Great Room window. We did a lolot of waving back and forth.
I miss them, and they miss me and Maria. And Zinnia too.
I’ve got this idea to come and read to the residents from the grass while they sat 10 feet away on the porch.
I’ll try that next week. I got some requests for help. Claudia wants some candy bars (I got them on the way home), Georgianna asked for cigarettes (I said no, not now) and Peggie pleaded for some 500 piece jigsaw puzzles. I got four for her online.
Tonight, I’m order dinner for the night shift aides and kites for one of the aide’s kids. Wednesday, Jean’s Place is bringing a special lunch with pies, and Monday, Nathan McKenzie is going to pick up a Sundae kit I ordered for a party after lunch.
Nathan’s Disinfectant Fogger is still on the way. So far, so good. No one at the Mansion has gotten sick.
