Jean’s Place: Swamped With Orders

by Jon Katz

I stopped at Jean’s Place this morning. The parking lot was full of trucks, all the big farmers were in line, wearing their masks, social distancing, grumbling.

It’s a beautiful day up here, and people wanted to come out. Kelly said they were busy all morning. I went into the kitchen to see Kevin at work., things were hopping in there.

I felt proud of the family, this morning, they are exhausted but determined to hang on. I hope they get to open up soon, there was a line going out the door this morning.

I really think they are going to make it. They don’t know how to quit.

  1. The family at Jeans Place has what my Dad called “grit”. He would tell us kids growing up to find our grit when things were tough. He said if you have grit you’ll make it! From all I’ve read on your blog I think no matter how things play out Jeans Place has the grit to make it. Thank you for an uplifting, continuing story of love, creativity, and grit!

  2. From Buffalo, NY and I hope to visit Jean’s Place soon.
Thanks for Maria/You and gentle energy.

  3. My kind of place; I’ve been stopping by local eateries like this ll my life. It is one of the things that I miss most during this “new normal.” Especially miss the breakfasts.

  4. It is good that Jean’s place is open again. I always have enjoyed going to such places and miss doing so now. I look forward to going out again for breakfast.
