I’m continuing to honor your requests to share our walks in the woods with you. Today, Maria came with Fate, and I walked a long two-miles, my knees are complaining. I love those woods, I could walk in them all day.
Maria and Fate play tug-of-war with sticks. I working on Zinnia’s emerging adolescence – challenging some commands, blowing me off once or twice. Training is getting her back into focus.
On this part of the walk, we walk on a very old road – more than two hundred years old – that has been maintained by the owners of the land. It’s a dream place for me to walk. The road curves through the woods for a mile or so and then turns into a path that goes on for another mile or two.
Come along with us, I’ll be back on the road tomorrow. I hope this is soothing for those of you confined to your homes and apartments. It isn’t the woods, but it is the next best thing.
These are wonderful walks in such beautiful woods. Fate and Zinnia are in a dogs’ paradise, and the exercise—even though virtual for some of us—is good for everybody. Thanks for posting them.
so we can watch the woods explode into their spring green foliage…
Thank you again, Jon. I can almost smell the decaying leaves and remember the sound of the wind blowing in the upper tiers of the trees in springtime. Almost like I was walking too.
