Today, Our Rainbow Goes To The Mansion

by Jon Katz

Today, time for the Mansion to get some attention from the Army Of Good. Maria and I (and Zinnia) are bringing over our Rainbow to hang on the ramp outside the windows there.

We are told they are working on their own rainbow for us and anyone who wants to come and see them through the windows.

This is a draining time for the residents, they can’t have visitors or see their families, and all outings and walks outside are canceled.

Thanks to the children of Philadelphia, Boston and New York City for launching this movement, along with the Muppets, of course. The rainbows are meant to show we miss the people who are forced or choosing to stay inside and are thinking of them.

After that, soup, sandwiches, and dessert from Jean’s Place will be arriving at the Mansion for a surprise lunch for the residents, they need some breaks and surprises.

We are also going to support a new Mansion Wish List coming soon for art supplies and some new movies. I expect that today or tomorrow.

Thursday, I’m driving halfway to Albany (for a meet) to drop off the laptops we got for the Mobile Classroom at Bishop Maginn and the refugee children who have no computers.

I’m expecting more Price Chopper gift cards as well.

I’m negotiating some regular food supplies for Jean’s to bring to the residents during the next few weeks. Today, lunch, Friday, cookies and desert.
