Sue Silverstein messaged me this morning, she said the students in the Mobile Classroom – the school closed down Monday – could use a lift from Zinnia, so I did a one minute video and sent it to her. They’ll see it today.
I told them we love them, miss them and will always be with them even if I’m not. I said some technology is headed their way to help the Mobile Classroom work. Come and see. It made me sad a bit, I feel a bit helpless these days.
And I do miss those kids.
I hope the Mansion residents and the students at Bishop Maginn know we haven’t abandoned them, we just need to be socially distant, is the phrase of the day.
A strange and fascinating time, a time of wonder and deep thinking.
But we are still managing some small acts of kindness.
If you’d like to help get some laptops to the Bishop Maginn students learning from home (some don’t have computers at home) you can help via Paypal, [email protected] or by check, Jon Katz, Mobile Classroom, P.O. Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.
And thanks.
