Smile! Therapy Dogs Can Work From Home – This Week

by Jon Katz

According to the messages I’m receiving, people must smile when they look into her eyes. This is some sort of alchemic miracle, but it’s great to figure out that a therapy dog can work from home.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before, my e-mail says its a good idea. Feel free to use this image in any way you wish, no charge, no copyright issues, no bookmarks.

Zinnia is a spirit dog, for sure, I have never seen a dog that makes people smile so easily and naturally. I’m going to put her to work this week.

A lot is happening in the new Coronavirus World Reality, this from an “old man at risk”. Maria has essentially grounded me except for walks and minor errands involving small numbers of people.

I have no intention of staying inside for a couple of months, that would do me in quicker than any virus, but I am staying away from people – social distancing, the Stalinists love to call it, or avoiding “Community Spread,” the other popular and creepy phrase. Otherwise, I am doing what I’m told.

I fought about this for a while and surrendered to the Superhero Maria, who was taking no prisoners. It’s easier to do what I’m told in this case, my new masters are Maria and Dr. Anthony Fauci of the CDC.

I found a small cache of sanitizer lotion on Amazon, it’s on the way – in April.

The staff at Bishop Maginn High School is meeting this morning, we’ll know more about how we can help the students at the school. Some of the kids are getting some of the laptops we bought the school earlier this year, I’ve offered to try to get more laptops if necessary and perhaps some “renewed” Ipads for those who need them or could use them, and Wi-Fi boosters if they are needed.

I’m waiting for guidance from the staff.

I’ll know more this morning. Thank you so much for supporting the Price Chopper Gift Card program, the gift cards will help the refugee kids and their families get nutritious food while the school – the main source of support for these families – is closed.

This morning, any child who needs one can get a care package containing some of the food we sent the school a couple of weeks ago.

Remember, if you get a gift card it needs to be mailed to my home address, not the school, which may not be getting mail this week: Jon Katz, 2502 State Route 22, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.

The gift cards won’t be sent to a P.O. Box, only a street address.

These will be valuable to the hungry students and hungry families no matter how long the school stays closed or when it opens.

I’m getting a focus on the next weeks and how I can do good work from home.
