Sue Silverstein sent me this photo this morning of the care packages being handed out to the students at Bishop Maginn who go hungry sometimes and their families.
As of today, the school will be closed for at least one week, probably more. They are working to set up an online teaching program.
With the school closed, the teachers got together and organized these packages from the food the Army Of Good sent a couple of weeks ago. Thanks! Nutritious and healthy snacks and meals.
We are supplementing this with gift card certificates from Price Chopper (the closest supermarket to most of the refugee families).
You may buy gift certificates in different amounts, but they need to be sent to me, as the school may not be receiving mail for a while. (Jon Katz, 2502 State Route 22, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.)
The gift cards can’t be sent to a PO. Box.
If you wish to avoid buying online, I will buy them for you, you can send a contribution to me via Paypal, [email protected] or a check to Jon Katz, Gift Cards, P.O. Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.
These will be valuable to these children and their families no matter how long the school is closed. You can buy the gift cards here. Be sure to fill out the entire field on the checkout page.
