I got this photo this afternoon from Sue Silverstein at Bishop Maginn High School.
It is a photo of the first wave of healthy snacks and food that arrived at the school today in the wake of our very successful Amazon Bishop Maginn Healthy Food And Snacks Wish List and campaign.
Sue added a note for the Army Of Good:
“How can we thank you? No child will be hungry!”
I never really know how to thank the Army of Good enough for all the good they have done. I think this is my favorite all-time Wish List. Today, I got a huge box of macaroni and cheese boxes mistakenly delivered to Bedlam Farm.
I’ll bring it to school next week. This will make an enormous difference to the hungry children at the school, who often don’t have breakfast or lunch. How wonderful of you all to help do this.
A small school closet is filling up with juice, oatmeal, granola bars, macaroni n’ cheese lunches.
For some time, the school’s teachers have been bringing nutritious food and snacks to the school where hungry kids line up before the first bell. Bishop Maginn is a private school and is not eligible for any federal food programs.
We are giving the teachers a break too, they don’t have much money either.
And Sue and Mike, I thank you from my heart for letting me in and supporting this work and understanding what I am about. We work so beautifully together, I am at a loss to express my gratitude all around.
I think we are okay for now, if the need continues or arises again, I will speak out.
Wow! This brought tears to my eyes. So wonderful to see such an outpouring of love.
Thank you, Jon, for making it possible for me to help the children and staff of BMHS.
That’s easy. The thanks is in knowing that it helps.
