Maggie bought five skeins of yarn recently from Maria and the Bedlam Farm sheep, but she kindly donated it back to us asking that the money for the yarn go to the healthy snack and lunch program for Bishop Maginn High School students who are hungry.
The yarn is up on Maria’s Etsy Shop and is marked “Bedlam Farm Donation.” It is selling for $27 a skein plus shipping, and Maggie has donated five skeins (thanks, Maggie.) Maggie is donating the yarn in support of the Army Of Good.
You can see the yarn and buy it on the Etsy Shop, if you don’t go online you can e-mail Maria – [email protected]. You can also view the yarn in the above photo.
We put up a Bishop Maginn Healthy Foods Wish List yesterday – juice, fruit, oatmeal, mac n’cheese lunches, granola bars – so we could order breakfast and lunch food for the students who do not get enough to eat.
The teachers have been bringing extra food at their own expense for them.
The list sold out almost immediately, thanks.
Any yarn purchases from Maggie’s Bedlam Farm yarn will go to the teachers, along with an additional several hundred dollars I’m bringing to the school early next week. The teachers will each get some of the money and use it as they see fit since they know the students well.
I’m being extra careful not to identify or embarrass the students who need this help, so I’d like to go slowly and carefully. Thanks for understanding.
We think these donations and the wish list will help these needy children eat for now. If we need more help, I’ll shout. Thanks.
Thanks so much. You can see and purchase the donation skeins here.
