I took this photo last summer, not too long after Bud arrived. I think it captured the alert and spunky person of these small dogs. Bud was our first small dog (Gus, our first Boston Terrier, died of the wasting disease megaesophagus, as a puppy).
I have come to understand the pull of these dogs, they are both sweet and ferocious, loyal to their people, unable to back away from trouble. Bud came with some fear, but none of it was directed at mice or rats or chipmunks.
He is a dedicated hunter. It has been a great pleasure coming to know and love Bud, he is full of personality and love, with these dogs they go hand in hand.
Bud is a sweet boy.?
What about Gus?
I give up, what about Gus?
Bud is my favorite.
Wasn’t Gus your first small dog?
Gus was our first Boston Terrier, as I mentioned in my piece. He died of megaesophagus, a wasting disease when he was a puppy, so I put him in a different category..
That wasn’t in your piece originally, the mention of Gus passing as a puppy. You didn’t mention Gus at all in your original piece. I was aware that Gus has passed though, I’ve been reading your blog for a long time.
MJ I’m not sure what you are talking about or what you are complaining about, whatever it is, I see the entry GusI write about clearly in the post, I may have put it in as I edited and corrected some typos – they don’t always show up on Facebook right away or at all, and I honestly can’t recall the details, I write a lot most days. But why don’t I just apologize for whatever is disturbing you? Let’s just say you are right.
This doesn’t quite seem like Watergate to me or the viral pandemic.
I should say I don’t see Gus the same way I see Bud, mostly because he didn’t live long and I put him in a different category when I write, and perhaps it is still painful to write about him..can we move on now?
