Maria works like a fiend day and night, almost every day of the week.

I love to spoil her when I can, and one of the few times I can is on her birthday when she lets her guard down a bit. She says she’s mostly given up on telling me not to give her presents. Good, because I won’t.

Her birthday was Tuesday but we celebrated it Thursday night (Wednesday night also). I took her out to dinner at a cafe in Troy, N.Y. and then to a concert by the South African male acapella choral group Lady Smith Mambazo, made famous by Paul Simon in his classic album “Graceland.”

The concern was in the gorgeous Troy Bank Music Hall, one of the oldest continuous concert halls in America.

We loved the concert, the high point for me was when they sand “Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes,” from the Simon album. They sang their hearts out for more than two hours.

The concert was great, mesmerizing, funny, talented and pure.

We had a sweet, sweet night together, I never dreamed of being so much in love and being loved so much.  I don’t really know what to make of it.

It is my daily miracle and I will never stop appreciating Maria and celebrating our love, on her birthday and every other day.

I did annoy her buy giving her one final present, a Chakra bracelet made of the Chakra colors (above). She yelled at me, but I could tell she loved it. It’s a perfect Maria gift. She yelled at me, but I could tell she liked it, she put it right on her wrist.
