For me, there is no more rewarding action that putting someone else before me. That is something of a surprise to me, I used to think other things were rewarding for me.
The Army Of Good puts other people ahead of themselves all the time. I always try to send a note of thanks to people who send money to me for the Mansion residents or Bishop Maginn High School.
I’ve decided to send everybody who donates money for this work a free Zinnia “Heal” Postcard since she is a healing dog and we are doing healing work.
This week, some important projects looming. Tomorrow I hope to support a Bishop Maginn Amazon Cheer Squad Wish List so that the new cheerleading team can get some mats and perhaps a few pom-poms. I’d also like to buy some scrubs for the Mansion aides who need some help getting them.
There are a lot of smaller acts of great kindness bubbling along – books, jackets, shampoo, conditioner, toiletries – I write about those as they occur, and take pictures of just about everything.
If you want to help in this work (the postcards are optional, you don’t need to get one,) you can contribute via Paypal, [email protected] or by check, Jon Katz, Mansion/Refugee Fund, P.O. Box 205, State Route 22, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.
I told Zinnia it’s time to put her to work for good.
