Facing Forward

by Jon Katz

“I felt my parallax shift, and refreshed my resolve to pitch in with those facing forward, rather than those fighting backward.”  — Montaigne in Barn Boots, by Michael Perry

Dealing with worry:

“Sit quietly and allow a recent discomfort of heart to rise within the safety of your breathing.

Breathe slowly and allow yourself to move through the discomfort by feeling it.

Breathe deeply and trust that your heart has the wisdom to filter and process this discomfort if you will only give it the chance.”

–  Mark Nepo, The Book Of Awakening.

I love the idea of facing forward, it is the very soul of the Army Of Good. Some people fight backward, some face forward. I want to face forward.
