The servers at Jean’s Place are loving and hard-working, but they are also tough and plain speaking. I was talking to Robin (right) last week about men, and she said, “well, you know, men do stupid shit.”

The whole diner, including my wife, burst into instant applause, and the stories of men doing stupid shit started flowing. Even the men joined in.

I helped by leaving my sweatshirt and hat in the restaurant, for which I was enthusiastically ridiculed. There is no way I am arguing with these very powerful women, or whining about them.

There is no whining permitted at Jean’s Place, but stupid shit can often be found there. Mary joined right in (she straightened me out because I didn’t know how to order an egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast.) I finally got it right this morning.

I asked these two to do a quick video about the “Men Do Stupid Shit,” campaign, I’m definitely not stepping in front of this bus.  These are formidable people.
