Maria, Zinnia and I went to the Mansion this afternoon to offer a Christmas service for the residents who couldn’t be with their families or have places to go for Christmas.
We had about eight residents at our meeting, which included silent prayer, poems, and discussions about the meaning of Christmas.
I’ll post more about that service, but I wanted to say that Zinnia was outstanding once again, she was actually cuddling up with three different people at once. No chewing, jumping or lunging.
She chewed on a bone, then went to sleep after greeting everybody. She brought a lot of joy to the resident’s Christmas, this was a hard day for some of them. It is something to see them light up when they see her.
As a therapy dog, she’s way ahead of me and my training, when called to action, she seems to know precisely what to do and not to do.
