I have circles on my mind these days, Circles Of Love, Circles Of Compassion, Circles Of Friendship. Yesterday, we went to the Round House Cafe and bought this circular candle stand. We are having four people over for dinner, two couples who are friends.
I thought the candles would bring them together, I got some flowers too, I’m cooking some healthy, light Spatzel and vegetables.
What a beautiful picture! It looks to me like that might be an Advent wreath candle holder. The Catholic tradition is that 4 candles represent the 4 weeks of Advent, waiting for the Christ child to be born. Three of the candles typically are purple and one is a rosy pink to symbolize the third Sunday of Advent, Joyful Sunday. The custom is to light the first candle on the first Sunday of Advent, the second on the second Sunday, and so on. Yours is a beautiful candle holder and if not made to be an Advent wreath, it could pass as one. Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo. You have given me an idea – to use my Advent wreath all year long as a table centerpiece with candles all of the same color.
