Cleaning Up Fate

by Jon Katz

Every time Fate goes into the pasture, we have to clean her up, she is covered in mud and manure. She used to balk at being wiped down, now she loves it. In rainy and wet weather, she gets a rubdown every time.

We have two couples over for dinner, it was a nice nite. I cooked light noodles (Spetzal) and vegetables, our guests brought dessert. In the dark days, it helps to invite friends over, the talk flowed easily and comfortably.

I notice nobody brought up politics, I think that’s happening to more and more people. It’s hard to put up with so much ugliness for so long. This week, we start heading into the Christmas realm.

The Mansion will hopefully be able to re-schedule their Christmas Party and I’ll be going to Bishop Maginn in the middle of the week. I’m full of the Christmas spirit this year giving and giving, not getting and getting.

I hope to bring a therapy dog to the Mansion tomorrow, and Zinnia will be coming with m to Bishop Maginn on Wednesday. I hope to buy some sort of Christmas dessert for the students at the school.

Thanks for your support and friendship. Tonight, I’m going to hole up with “The Yellow House,” a powerful memoir by Sarah M. Broom.
