It was just a matter of time. This week, Zinnia hit the front page of The Evangelist, the official weekly publication of the Diocese of Albany, and the largest weekly (35,000 subscribers) in this part of New York State.
The piece, by Staff Writer Franchesca Caputo, is called “Puppy Love” and it tells the story of Zinnia, coming to Bishop Maginn High School to work with the students there to learn how to be a therapy dog.
Six or seven students have volunteered to help me train her, my idea is to do something radical here – to train a dog in the place she’ll be working with the people she’ll be working with.
This is an innovative way to help her learn this complex work.
The students are deeply into it and I think it’s only fitting Zinnia made the front page. Not for the last time, I imagine.
You can read the story here if you wish. Maybe I need to start a Zinnia press scrapbook. She’s is a star already and she’s not even 12 weeks old.
