Zinnia’s Landscape

by Jon Katz

I’m having a blast experimenting with several different photo editing programs to replace the one I had to give up. It’s been a two-month process, but I’m getting closer. I like the option of turning a digital landscape into an artistic one.

I have a lot to learn, but this photograph says a lot to me.

  1. Good on you!! Getting to that part where the software in question begins to work for you is hard won but worth it. It’s interesting that it is obviously better than the tools you’ve used before in that you can get to what is in your mind’s eye more easily. Impressive. I’ve used Photoshop for a hundred years because I can and because I could never face trying to master something new. Just too damn hard. Besides what I could do passed muster. I can see in your latest photographs that this new tool helps you to go beyond muster into freer, easier and more successful creative effort. That gets a WOWZER ! from this cranky old woman.

    1. I got stuck where Jon is, lost my old Photoshop that I could use with ease, and have not managed to replace it with any ease. So I’m not doing much with graphics, etc and am in a lull. When need outweighs lethargy I will take on tech again. But I love “old” Photoshop which saw me through 25 years of owning a small business and designing.

My BFF in spirit is named Jane so thank you for letting me see her name
