William’s Halloween

by Jon Katz

William is six years old, he’s the son of Tia, a Mansion aide. In our program, we try to support the aides and their families as well as the Mansion residents. They don’t make a lot of money, and they work awfully hard.

I’ve been getting Leggo sets and Goosebumps books (including Slappy) for William, and he’s been loving them, he took the latest “Horrorland” Goosebumps book to school as part of his Halloween Slappy costume, I think – and Tia wanted me to see it.

I’ve known Tia for several years now, and I am inspired by her patience, affectionate and consciousness. She has the gift of doing a dozen things at a time and doing all of them well. William writes me the nices thank you notes.

William is a voracious reader, and he has a mother who loves to read with him. Happy Halloween, William, you’re getting an Avenger Leggo box next week.

  1. William is dressed as Slappy, his favorite character from the Goosebumps books.
Thank you so much for all you do for everyone at the Mansion and especially for my daughter and grandson. William loves all the lovely gifts you give.
