Fate And Bud Meet Zinnia

by Jon Katz

Lenore Severni, our very wonderful Lab breeder, lit up the farmhouse and much of the Internet last night by sending a video of a puppy sitting in a basket with Zinnia’s in the background.

Lenore was having fun teasing me all night, but the message of this video was pretty clear. I think we have found our Zinnia, and I think Lenore thinks so too. While it’s too soon to know exactly what a puppy is like, good breeders know how to match up a dog with a human.

They want the dogs to be healthy and grounded, but they also want them to be happy. That’s just how I got Lenore the wonderful dog. Speaking of coincidences, Lenore’s favorite flower is the Zinnia. Maria’s favorite flower is the Zinnia, that’s why I named our puppy Zinnia.

I believe this is here, and I think Lenore has the same hunch.

Take a look and listen for yourself.

This morning, Maria decided to show Fate and Bud the video, in which the puppy speaks a bit. Lenore put her in this basket with Zinnia’s in the background, yet another sign of a calm and grounded puppy.

Fate and Bud were mesmerized, they listened to the video several times. I’ve been showing it all over town. Can’t wait to meet this dog. Lenore is the owner of Stonewall Farms Labradors, she also breeds cats and Springer Spaniels. You can check out her website here.

She is very special, committed to breeding for health and temperament. I think we have some fine genes here.
