Okay, there’s the name thing: Lenore was my very loved Lab, now my Lab breeder. Then tonight, Lenore The Breeder is torturing me every time I see a puppy and ask if it’s Zinnia.
Now she sends me a video of a puppy surrounded by Zinnia’s, which is Lenore’s favorite flower. But guess what, it’s also Maria’s favorite flower, which is where I got the name for Zinnia.
I’m not superstitious or into omens, but when I saw this video, I thought, well this is Zinnia. I just felt it. Too many coincidences.
It’s up to Lenore, of course, which dog goes where, and I will respect her wishes, but I showed this video to Maria and she said: “Oh, My God, can we go and get her now?”
No, not yet. We’ll see the puppies in about five weeks, and if that is Zinnia, and Lenore thinks so – she is having a good time teasing me – we’ll bring her home around Thanksgiving.
I told Lenore this video is killing me. She laughed. I think you have to be tough to be a good breeder. Still, I have this feeling this is the one. She’s a female and she already has things to say.
