We came across a beautiful new carousel at the Bronx Zoo Saturday, Robin wanted Maria and I to take her on it. There was only room for two people, so I told Maria to go with Robin, and I tried to get on one of the bug carousel figures.
That was a disaster, so I get off and sat with Robin and Maria stood alongside us. I was glad to sit next to Robin, taking a three-year-old kid on a carousel is one of those sweet experiences in life that ought not to be missed.
Maria took this photo. It was sweet of her to give up this seat. Yes, Robin and I had a blast.
Jon, that picture is so sweet. Made me smile. Thanks.
How lovely!
You will all cherish this happy experience, I’m sure. My earliest memory was at age 3 so perhaps Robin will remember, which would be very nice. Robin seems to be very bright (and adorable!) and very aware of everything going on around her which I’m sure will increase her chances of remembering this special day at the zoo with you and Maria.
I am so happy you and Maria were able to spend time with Robin. I feel sure she will remember the memories you made. I was sad when you said Maria was not Robin’s grandmother and you would let her Grandmother explain it to her. My husband and I had both been married before so we had grandchildren before marriage and then we had others born after we married. We think of all of them and love all of them as our grandchildren. They also think of us as their grandparents. They have no problem understanding the concept some families have more than two grandmothers to love them. I think Robin is blessed to have you and Maria to be her grandparents.
