Minnie has made the back porch her home unless it’s pouring. She sleeps most often on Maria’s Fiber Chair, made during the winter from hay baling strings. Minnie is at peace these days.

B&W Magazine: Minnie On The Porch

I love Minnie. When you made the decision to proceed with surgery on her leg several years ago, I applauded.
My cat had a tumor on her leg, but the vet felt that at the age of 12 or 13, it would be hard for her to adapt to 3 legs. I agreed. She passed peacefully.
Minnie has enjoyed her life for many years now. She is cared for, fed and sheltered.
She looks real comfy to me!
I’m still not sure it was the right decision, Margot, she had a brutal recovery….she seems at peace now, but I never feel easy about subjecting an animal to a major medical procedure she or he can’t possibly understand or agree to…seems like playing god tome
I’m wondering if you’ve seen this Ted Talk yet, about animal grief. I heard your voice (with counter points) in the background the whole time I was listening to it. The speaker mentions “over concern” about anthropormorphizing. Reading your blog leads me to believe the growing situation is just the opposite.

I’m not much of a cat fan, but have to admit that a cat can sleep more completely than any other animal! What total peace!
