I planned to go to Albany this morning to meet with Keven Reiss, a teacher at Bishop Maginn High School and his wife Mary, who has launched a GoFundme Campaign to raise money to bury their son, Milan, who had Muscular Dystrophy and died last weekend.
The fund page has now raised $4,195, they need $4,000 more to bury their son. People have sent me more than $600 overnight, I’m accepting donations via Paypal, [email protected] and by check, Jon Katz, Milan Burial Fund, P.O.Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.
I hope to bring Kevin and Mary a bit fat check in the morning, they’ve already lost enough and they need to bury their son. So far, I have $600 in Paypal donations to give them, not counting checks in the mail. We’ve come very far in one day, we have a ways to go.
The school called just as I was getting in the car to tell me there has been severe flooding, the power has been cut off to the school. They expect to be open tomorrow, and I’ll play to meet Milan’s parents then.
It’s pouring here too, been raising hard all day. I’m up for resting today.
We are focused on raising the money necessary for them to be able to bury their child. Thanks for your support, we’ve raised or donated more than $1,000 already. There are lots of good people out there.
The photo is of the morning sun pouring into our bedroom at sunrise through the prism of a colorful glass wind chime I got a few weeks ago. I’ve convinced it’s the angels singing in the morning, that’s what I hear and see.
