The first wave of packages from the sold-out Bishop Maginn Security Wish List arrived at the school today, and I wanted for the Army Of Good to see what it hath wrought.
First aid kits, Kevlar blankets, emergency backpacks stuffed with lists and numbers and supplies, ladders that can hang out of windows. Things we all hope will never be used but might save lives if they are ever needed.
How sad that children in school have to even think about the need for these things or practice using them. How good that we have made them safer. Sometimes I feel our country is sick at the core, but I am full of hope and promise. Thanks so much for making this school safer.
Today was just the first wave of packages from the wish list, more coming tomorrow.
