Gift Cards: Bishop Maginn High School

by Jon Katz

I can’t thank you enough for all your support of Bishop Maginn High School and its Wish List. In September, there will be a new computer lab, a science lab, a choir, a music room, art supplies for months,  monthly calendars on every wall, school supplies for every teacher and for every student who needs help, basketballs for the athletic program,  and a small but growing tuition fund.

As long as need students pay something, they can get it. But they have to pay something, and we are helping and hopefully, can help.

The major elements of the Bishop Maginn Wish List are sold out, but I wanted to remind people that there are still two items on it: a $10 Amazon Gift Card and a $25 Amazon Gift Card.

There are 16 $10 Gift Cards left and just six $25 Gift Cards. The school is always in need of basic supplies, and some of the refugee children are living in poverty, sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags to keep warm in the winter and wearing sandals in January.

We want to give people a breather, you’ve all spent a lot of money, but until the next lists go up, the Gift Cards are a simple and inexpensive way to keep supporting the school, and to keep its mission in your hearts and on your minds.

You’ve been wonderful, but please don’t forget this school. Of all the habits I’ve formed in my life, this is the best and most useful one.

It would be great to polish off those cards.

They are doing the most wonderful work, and they and their students are in perpetual need. I start most mornings buying one gift card or another. It feels good, and it does good. Thanks so much. Take a look at the Gift Cards.

And thank you.
