I received a wonderful art donation for the new Mansion Memory Care Center today, this painting was donated by Carolyn Smith, a member of the Army Of Good and the author of a wonderful new cat blog called CatsIn Cambridge.Net.
The new blog is just a few weeks old and already has more than 100 readers. Carolyn is working on a memoir about her early life in Cambodia before the atrocities and violence there.
She also brought more than a dozen beautiful floral paintings, we are so fortunate to have gotten hold of art of this quality, it’s just perfect for the Mansion and its new Memory Care unit.
Yesterday, we hung eight paintings by Sue Silverstein, the very gifted artist who teaches the art class at Bishop Maginn High School. We plan to put some cheerful, soothing and colorful art on all of the walls in the new unit, the bedrooms are mostly bare.
Many thanks to Sue and to Carolyn, these works will do a lot of good where they are very much needed.
Love that painting. Thought it was for sale and I was ready to go for it…
I’ve been reading carolyn’s blog since you’ve first mentioned it here, I enjoy her writing very much! I really love the never ending story blog too! Unfortunately I have not been able to let Cynthia know as I cannot comment there. Thanks for letting me know about these two interesting women with great stories to tell!
