We went out to the pasture and Red moved out to get the sheep and bring them in, suddenly he had to drop to the ground, which he does when he is in pain from his back. You can see him in the bottom right corner of the photo.
I didn’t know where Bud was, he was last seen trying to flush a savvy chipmunk out from the stone wall, he came out of nowhere and went rocketing out after the sheep, turned them all around and brought them back into the Pole Barn.
I never claim to know what is in Bud’s mind, but to me, it looked like he was covering for Red, rushing out to help him. I’ve seen him do this before, and he never interferes with Red directly when he is working.
In a minute or two, Red got up and we went back into the house. He seems fine now.
Bud always keeps an eye on Red, is always close to him. It is always startling to see this, and beautiful as well. I never really know what goes on in the mind of a dog, but pictures tell their own story. And they rarely lie.
Jon…This is mind boggling…a BT rounding up sheep!
I know, can’t quite get my head around it…
Monkey see…Monkey do… Who knows?
You tell such nice stoies, you gave Bud a second chance and he is paying forward.
