I was standing with Red on his hill, he was struggling today. I left him to go shovel some manure, and Bud came running up and went on Red Patrol. Bud is rarely still outside, but does sit with Red, and makes sure the sheep don’t get cheeky.
If one gets too close, he runs up and barks furiously in their faces. The sheep, shocked and bewildered by this loud but fearless runt, back off.
Red exemplifies that part of us, as humans, we would like best to be. Your stories of Red encourage us to be the best we can be. And Bud encourages us to take a stand in life. It might not feel terribly comfortable, but it’s the right thing to do.
We can learn so much from our canine mentors. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Hi I see your pictures & I always want to ask. What happened to Red? Hes a beautiful dog. I looked back a little but couldn’t find anything. He doesnt look that old that’s why I’m asking. I just love dogs. Thank you Donna Brozak
I write about Red almost every day, Donna, if you want to follow the blog, you have to read it..I can’t update every person on FB who pops in..
I am lighting a candle for Red tonight.
