Our Pasture Reborn

by Jon Katz

It cost nearly $1,000 to spray lime and fertilizer on our three pastures, it was well worth it. We are taking care of our farm. It was wonderful to see the clover sprouting up all over three pastures. The sheep and donkeys love clover, and it was  a compelling sign that the pastures were returning to life.

For us, the farm is a stand-in for Mother Earth, if we take care of her, she will take care of us.

  1. Have either you or Maria read Braiding Sweetgrass? If not. I think both or either of you would love it! It is a beautiful tribute to Mother Earth. (And to the life that you and Maria are living.)
