The Mansion has a new resident and Bingo Night has a new player, Georgina, a serious Bingo player, and a gracious and gentle human being. I have to be careful about saying how nice new residents are, the last one I thought that about turned out to be not that nice and was gone in a few days.
Georgina seems quite lovely. She is in need of clothing, and I went to Wal-Mart yesterday to get her started on a good wardrobe for the summer. I got a shirt, two pairs of pants, two pairs of shorts and a pair of sandals.
I’m going to get her some summer shirts over the weekend, I’m tapping my network of good Thrift stores, I know one that has a good selection of nice shirts. I’m also getting very good at sizing clothes for the residents, they often misjudge what they need, but I’m batting 100 per cent now at choosing the right things.
Georgina says she needs everything, and I will find out more about precisely what that means.
Wayne was the Bingo King tonight, he won two games. I have yet to meet the new resident who wants to sleep on the porch sometimes. His new lounge is arriving Tuesday.
On July 9, the Mansion is dedicating its new Memory Care unit, and some of the residents I know well are moving next door. Red and I will continue our therapy work there. For the residents safety, the unit is secure, people can only enter and leave with special codes.
The Memory Care Center is being dedicated to the Army Of Good. Thank you all, a richly deserved recognition.
