Belly Dancing is all about pride and style, the liberation of being oneself and the pride of being a strong woman. I saw both of these things in Maria this morning. She was drawn to belly dancing from the first, for reasons she doesn’t yet full understand.

But she loved being up there. At one point, she closed her eyes and danced and seemed to be transported to another place. My camera was there.
