Bishop Maginn has added two desperately need items to its new Bishop Maginn Amazon Wish List, an Acer Chrome Laptop for $205, and two AmScope microscope for $89.99 apiece.

We have begun  a campaign to bring technology to the school, the refugee students have no computers and there is no longer a working telescope in the school.

We are starting small, one or two at a time.  The idea is to have the microscopes and laptops in place by September, or hopefully, sooner.

We need 20 microscopes and the 26 laptops.

This will transform the curriculum of the school and give these students, most of whom are poor, access to the same technologies other students at other schools have, and that they will need.

Wish List donations are tax-deductible, the school will send buyer a confirming letter.

There is great news, the first of the 26 computers arrived at the school this morning, Mike Tolan, the school’s principal, sent me this photo just before 10 a.m. The project is now officially underway.

This is a life-changer, for the kids, for the school.

Today is the first time the microscopes have  been put on the list.

This computer was purchased on Amazon by a member of the Army Of Good and shipped directly to the school. People can also contribute to this campaign by sending checks to Bishop Maginn High School.

We will be trying to get this equipment in a variety of ways. We’re putting one or two up at a time on the Wish List,  you can donate directly to the school (donations are tax-deductible) , send checks to Mike Tolan, Bishop Maginn High School, 75 Park Avenue, Albany, N.Y., 12202.

You can also buy this computer at any time and just have it shipped to the school at the Park Avenue address. Please help if you can. Small donations matter just as much as big ones.
