Bedlam Farm has the first new contributor in it’s glorious history – Issachar, a very bright and funny refugee from Pakistan, and a student at the Bishop Maginn High School.

Your tuition support for Issachar and his brother Asher will enable them to stay at Bishop Maginn, a refuge for them after some brutal and very frightening years.

Issachar is an amazing young man. For all he has been through, he has never lost his keen and inventive sense of humor. I think good comedy has often come out of pain.

He agreed to do a joke a week for the blog, and yesterday, when we met at the high school, he actually had three. Come and listen.

He says he wants to be a lawyer to honor his mother – she wanted to be a lawyer, but circumstances prevented that  – and that’s up to him of course.  If he becomes a lawyer, the world will lost a very good comedian.
