Blue’s painting – as yet unnamed by inspired by her fascination with astrology – is the last painting left from the ones I put on sale yesterday. It will cost $50, shipping is free.
If you are interested, please e-mail me: [email protected], we will ship it right out to you. Blue loves astrology and anything to do with the stars, this where she gets her ideas for her paintings.
She says they come from the stars.
Blue is a refugee, and a junior at the Bishop Maginn High School and the teachers there are bowled over the quality of her art work.
Her family is poor, and yesterday her teacher Sue Silverstein took her to Wal-Mart with some of the money we have collected for her to buy some of the things she and her family urgently need.
We’ve also sold two of her paintings on the blog.
“I took Blue shopping today” Sue Silverstein wrote me last night, “and she was sure to buy things for each member of her family. Her little sister is due to graduate from middle school this month, Blue asked her what she’d like and she shyly said a dress for graduation. This little $10 dress from the children’s department looked like a million dollar dress on her! She wanted you to know how grateful she is– Sue.”
How quickly we forget how little can make another person’s day. Blue’s sister will be happy and proud in her $10 dress. How many of us would even think of that? We so need to look in the mirror…
