Holy Light

by Jon Katz

I was at the Over The Moon bead shop the other day buying bingo prizes for the Mansion residents, and I saw this striking wind chime hanging in the window. I bought it right away for Maria, thinking she would put it in her studio, but we both also had the idea of hanging it in the bedroom window across from our bed, it gets direct sunlight in the morning.

It was strikingly beautiful to me when the sun rose, I am a warrior for color and light. But this was more, it felt like a holy light to me, the kind of light you see in beautiful old cathedrals and temples.

I found myself saying a morning prayer, I said “Dear Mobile/ Wood Chime, I wish for a peaceful and meaningful day for us and our friends and for the people who read this.”

I surprised myself by doing this, all my life I look for the sacred, and I rarely, find it, let alone from a bead shop to my bedroom window. There is something special about this light.
