Rainstorm, Bedlam Farm

by Jon Katz

As a photographer, I always want to capture the feeling of something. I’ve tried a number of things to capture the feel of a snowstorm, and fast, large lenses can capture the snowflakes and convey the feeling of a snowstorm. It’s harder to do with Spring rains.

I was sitting in my car outside the farmhouse after reading to the Mansion residents, waiting for the heavy rain to let up. I dozed off for a few minutes, and when I woke up, I saw the raining pour down the windshield. The image looked like a Monet painting to me.

I took out my Iphone X and took a shot through the windshield. I loved it. This is what it felt like to be in a rainstorm at Bedlam Farm today.
