Every year in late April, there is a plant sale in my town of Cambridge to benefit Hubbard Hall, our art and education center. We love to sleep in on weekends, but Maria was up and running at dawn.
It was a raw and blustery day, windy and cold.
The best gardeners in town bring some of their best plants and flowers, we know from past years you have to get there early. Maria tore through the plants, asking about each one. We bought $40 worth and we have to be careful with them this weekend because there’s going to be a frost tonight and tomorrow night.
We got some muffins and croissants for the trip to Boston Sunday. We are eager to go and meet those octopuses and the other fish. This afternoon, to the movies: Avenger: Endgame.
Raw and blustery!!! Frost!!!! Gray molten skies!!!! Colors stand out vividly on an overcast day. You can’t wear WOOLY hats, jumpers (sweaters), nice knit gloves, HERE in SoCAL. No breezes. No wind. Hot and Hot and dry every day. You guys are SO LUCKY. I guess if one had a swimming pool and did not have to work it would be OK here. Otherwise, what we would not give for some RAIN!!!!!!!!! Businesses have to hire people to use a pressure water machine to clean pavements and hire people to get up on ladders to sweep off the dust and dirt from awnings because there is NO RAIN.
You guys have it MADE there.
