Suzy is definitely interested in Bud and Bud is definitely interested in Suzy. When she sees Bud, she comes up and wiggles her ass at him, and he loves to touch noses with her and lick her on the nose.
As a sort of parent, I think I need to communicate to Bud that this can only end in hearbreak, but as a writer with a farm, I know to mind my own business and keep out of it.
I’ve been living with dogs and sheep for a long time now, and I’ve never seen a dog want to make it with a sheep. Any border collie worth his salt would be horrified, Rose would have stormed off the farm in outrage.
Red and Fate don’t seem to notice. It is fun to watch this I guess, I hope Bud doesn’t try to take it any further, he could easily get hurt. Bud has a big heart, I hope he doesn’t take a shine to Lulu.
The first playmate my Jack Russell had as a puppy was the neighbor’s cat. The cat was very dog savvy and at only eight weeks old, Mandy thought he was great fun to play with. I was pleased because I didn’t want a dog that looked at cats as if they were lunch. The only snag was that Mandy spent the rest of her life trying to find another feline playmate. She always look so disappointed and confused when her overtures of friendship were met with spitting and hissing. I tried to explain things to her but failed, of course….
Your farm is a magical place where you and Maria allow your animals the freedom to be themselves. The two of you allow each other the freedom to be yourselves. Lovely.
