Happy Easter From Alice At The Mansion. I asked her how her Easter was going – she will be staying at the Mansion today – and she said. “It is fine. I love every day of my life.”
Alice is an inspiration to me. She has memory issues and needs a walker to move, yet she loves life and gives thanks for it every day. She held up her cookie to show the world.
This morning, I brought two boxes of beautiful cookies from the wizards at the Round House Cafe to the Mansion aides and residents who are there without families (many residents are out with their families on this holiday).
Easter has meaning for me, I relate to rebirth and resurrection, and the unique gift of human beings to grow and change and give rebirth to their lives. I have done this, Maria as well.
We talked about this on our new podcast this morning, we were inspired by a talk by the famed sociologist Renee Brown which was broadcast on Netflix this morning. Maria and I watched it in the dark before the dawn.
I’m going back to the Mansion this afternoon, we are thinking of going to see the new super hero movie Shazam!, it is is supposed be very funny.
I wish all of you a Happy Easter, and also the same for my other family, the Mansion residents. If Alice can find hope and beauty every day, I think there is good reason to be optimistic about the world.
What a beautiful photo of Alice! Actually, no, Alice is beautiful and you took a great photo of her! 🙂
Happy Easter Jon!
Alice is the real deal and I am going to let her words echo on my days that aren’t the easiest ones – I Love Every Day of my Life.
We are so carried away with celebrity in our lives, but someone like Alice and her worldview touch me deeply, that is a deep well of love and wisdom.
