I love my new Romanian peasant hat,  it feels like the summer hat I’ve been waiting for much of my life. As worn as it looks, it is only a couple of weeks old, custom made for me. It is amazingly comfortable, and I am especially fond of it, even though Maria says I look like Paddington Bear when I wear it.

And it came from Romania!

She says it’s a compliment, I have my doubts. She swears she loves it. But this hat is going to be on my head all day every day this summer except when I sleep. It’s just my head.

Today, I stopped in Battenkill Books to get sone books to read to the Mansion residents and she has a big box of Jane Jenni Personality Buttons, the kind I’ve been handing out to the Mansion aides (they love them).

Connie was eyeing my hat and she suggested I wear some of the buttons. Great idea, I think the hat should be festooned with buttons, like fishing hats are covered in old casting flies.

Since I have a Trophy Wife, that was a must, and as I am trying to learn more about cooking, Sous Chef worked, and Maria says I’m a Firecracker, so that was easy, and of course, I am a Honey Bun.

More buttons to come. I love this hat.
