I love Bud’s spirit. He shows me that you can horribly mistreat a dog, but that doesn’t necessarily break their spirit. Bud’s spirit is strong, it was much bigger than the heartless man who left him outside in an uncovered pen for nearly two years, and did nothing as his penmates died.
I think it takes a lot to break a dog’s spirit and I wonder if the spirit of a dog doesn’t heal more quickly than a human beings.
It’s so sad how humans hurt animals. They cannot treat fellow humans much better when they have so much hardness in their hearts. Dogs are wonderful to take so much abuse and be able to still have love and trust inside them.
His face and body says it all. He knows he has a loving forever home – a home he dreamed about in that pen.
It is truly amazing how far Bud has come since arriving at Bedlam Farm into your and Maria’s wonderful care.
Another photo I just want to jump into and give Bud a huge hug!
