The Minds Of Dogs: Wednesday, “Talking To Animals,” One To Three P.M.

by Jon Katz

Tomorrow, on my weekly radio show, Talking To Animals, I’ll kick off what I hope to be a continuing series of dialogues and discussions about the minds of dogs – their intelligence, their consciousness, the way they think, the way they talk and listen.

I’ve been researching this subject and writing about it for years and I’ve been boning up this week. It’s a wonderful subject for Talking To Animals,  a program I hope will be thoughtful, stimulating and useful.

I think the show is catching on, we are starting to get more calls and e-mails,  more people are getting through and the questions are intelligent and helpful to others. You can hear the show on WBTNAM1370, you can live stream it or download a free app like Simple Radio, the reception is clear as a bell anywhere there is WI-FI.

The station equipment was installed around the Korean War, they are re-building and modernizing, one step at a time.

The show is also re-broadcast Wednesday evenings from 8 to 10 p.m. on the radio station,  non-profit community radio. (I don’t get paid either). My purpose is to establish a thoughtful, civil and stimulating program about animals, especially dogs and cats and other domestic pets like horses and donkeys.

The program is also a podcast, it can be downloaded on WBTNAM.US.

Thomas Toscano, the station manager helps run the broadcast and handle the calls, and he has interesting things to say about animals as well. Maria calls in during the second hour and she and I talk about our lives with animals – she wants to talk about animal consciousness tomorrow.

Thanks for being patient, we have had many technical problems with phone calls, but they seem to be straightening out.  I love your calls, I learn so much from them. We are a civil show, we are good to one another, we choose to be an alternative to the shouting and arguing on commercial media.

You can call on two lines, 802 442 1010 or 866 442-9286.  You can e-mail me your questions before, during, or after the show and I’ll read them and talk about them if I can.: [email protected].

The dog consciousness series of discussions is central to choosing, training and living well with dogs. The more we know about how they think and listen and talk, the better our lives with them will be. Tune in to Talking To Animals if you can, your calls are essential to the program’s success.

I don’t like to talk to myself, I want to talk to you. 802 442 1010 or 866 442-9286. Or e-mail me at [email protected]. I check my phone during the show.

If you would like to support WBTNAM, check out their Amazon Wish List, there are very inexpensive options.
