Bedtime: Robin And Sandy. Got Tickets For NYC

by Jon Katz

I bought train tickets today to go see my granddaughter Robin and my daughter Emma in Brooklyn in mid-March. It’s been too long. Emma sent me this photo of two great pals, Robin and Sandy, who cuddle up together at bedtime.

I haven’t seen Robin in about six months, and it will be fascinating to see how she has changed. Emma says we are two peas in a pod, we are similar in many ways. We’ll see. I’m looking forward to it, this time, Maria will stay and keep an eye on the dogs and the farm.

I’m still working out the grandfather thing, but I think I’ll move enjoy reading to her. Got to find some neat books.

  1. What an adorable picture!! She is a little love with her dog. Have a wonderful trip!!
Maria will be there for Red.

  2. I love this picture! Robin is so intent with her book. I think reading to children, to anyone, is a gift – to them and to the reader.

One of my all-time favorite books for kids is “Stellaluna” if Robin doesn’t already have it. Any of Janell Canon’s delightfully written and illustrated books are my go-to gift books. I loved reading them to my son, and her drawings are enchanting.

I look forward to your posts of your trip!
