Bud does not really believe in restrictions on his movement. He is the King of the farm, he believes every thing on the farm – every toy, chair, seat, treat – is his. I have not been successful in explaining the concept of territory to Bud, he is a Boston Terrier, whose nickname is “Irish Terror.” He rejects bounaries out of hand. Like the other dogs, he is forbidden to lie in chairs or sofas.

My Dogs Are Not Allowed On The Furniture (Three)
by Jon Katz
It’s nice to know that you are just as strict as I am regarding dog rules. Heidi gets s few pieces of shredded cheese in her supper bowl and one day I accidentally dropped a few pieces on the floor. Heidi had me trained in no time. Bits of cheese are now dropped “accidentally on purpose” every evening. It’s amazing how they bend and even create rules for their benefit and often we don’t even know it’s happening. To heck with being reincarnated as a human. I want to come back as one of my dogs!
THAT BOY
Oh, Jon and Maria,
I love that little boy and his interpretations of “boundaries”. He came, he saw, he conquered, then, as if that was not enough, Bud has captured the hearts of all! In addition to his immediate and diversified family at Bedlam Farm, he has stolen the hearts of thousands, near and far. Wise old eyes and a young bottomless heart.

Good morning, Jon. I have a question. And maybe I’m doing something wrong or getting your blog incorrectly. I go to the website on safari on my iPhone. In the past I’ve seen a link on the bottom “older posts” or something like that. I don’t always have a chance to read them every day and sometimes go to a prior post. Maybe I’m just not doing it right.
Just refresh your browser, Deb, you’re not doing anything wrong..
I am so happy, I just started receiving your blog again. I had stopped getting it for awhile (don’t know why), It sure made my day to see it back again!
Thanks Debbie if you read the blog you will know why…glad for your support.
