A brave little African violet popped up in a plant bowl on the kitchen windowsill a couple of weeks ago, to the delight of Maria. It is our Ambassador to Spring, the harbinger, the message of the angels. It gets little direct sunlight, but it seems happy and determined to get us back to color and light
